The wait is over. Here are the first 44 artists performing at the tenth edition of the Pop-Kultur festival, happening 28th-30th August 2024 at the Kulturbrauerei.

We are very much looking forward to the band Blumengarten, who were catapulted into success in 2023, post-punk legends A Certain Ratio, who have been active since 1977, the US American punk-ravers of Sextile, the New York house and ambient musician James K, experimental electronic producer Blinky Bill from Kenya, American-Belgian newcomer duo GHOSTWOMAN, the third Pop-Kultur appearance from indie rock artist Ilgen-Nur, female Iranian industrial duo Stereotype, Iranian electronic folk music band Esfand, the intoxicating sound of futurebae, the Hamburg all-female hip-hop collective bangerfabrique and Frankfurt rapper OG LU.
And we will once again present Commissioned Works, world premieres of pieces created exclusively for the festival. To name a few: Berlin-based band Hope, who previously took part in »Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs« and played a concert at the festival, is now returning with a Commissioned Work, collaborating with British artist and environmental activist Emma Critchley to immerse Pop-Kultur visitors sonically and visually in endangered underwater worlds. Other Commissioned Works touch on themes such as mindfulness and self-reflection. Iranian artist Pari Eskandari, whose »Chadors« was released on Tricky’s label False Idols, for example, is devoted to exploring inner psychological states and worlds – her own as well as those of her family. Video artist Lillevan, musician Schneider TM and their guests welcome you to the audiovisually immersive »echo chamber UTOPIA«, dealing with the uncertain future of the Anthropocene.

On 24th April, applications for »Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs« will open via nachwuchs.pop-kultur.berlin. Newcomers in the broad field of pop music – musicians, producers, DJs, managers, bookers, label owners, video directors, PR agents and journalists – will have the opportunity to learn and network.
