Cheap Wedding

Behind the artistic persona of Cheap Wedding is an experienced musician who began her career as a classical pianist, played in bands and composed film music – also working as a booker, sauna attendant, and even backstage at the Pop-Kultur festival – before she felt ready to create a completely new creative identity. Drawing on a wide range of influences such as trip-hop, eighties pop, James Blake, Leonard Cohen, Tirzah, and FKA twigs, Cheap Wedding succeeds in creating bedroom pop that’s both intimate and pleasantly quirky, perfect for dreaming and letting yourself go. There’s nothing cheap about the project, except for the wedding veil that the artist likes to wear, seemingly pulled from the scraps of a crumbling civilisation.
