In 2019, the Çaystube was designed as a performative installation, serving as an experiential space as well as a respite from the hustle and bustle of the festival.
This year, the guiding principle will go even further, adapted to new circumstances and the needs of the audience. The Çaystube will be a meeting point aiming to facilitate exchange in person. After long and difficult times of isolation and contact restrictions, these kinds of spaces are even more necessary than before.
Beyond its social and political demands, the somewhat unusual stage also offers a wide range of cultural activities. There will be concerts by the likes of Petra Nachtmanova, Waqwaq Kingdom and Mechatok, DJ sets by the collective Slic Unit and Galouchë as well as a reading and discussion of texts by writer Semra Ertan, a performance by Astro and the installation »Ping Pong Chat.« Art and discourse, collaboration and exchange: welcome to the Çaystube!
