Sextile

From just glancing at the members of Sextile, you might guess they’re a punk band, but just as easily that they’re full-on ravers. What’s so great is that they’re actually both. Best described as industrial-synth-punk with influences from darkwave and EBM (electronic body music), their pulsating music makes you want to hit the dancefloor for hours, but also to dive into an erupting mosh pit. Founded in Los Angeles in 2015, the band favours a kind of synth sound that you can feel rattling deep in your body, creating a glorious, never-ending apocalyptic party. If you can barely keep up with Brady Keehn’s voice beneath the claustrophobic post-punk guitars and layers of drum-machine, well, that’s how it’s supposed to be. Because Sextile make music that keeps pushing itself – and the listener along with it.
