What happens when artists are given complete creative freedom? They deliver the unexpected. Discover experimental and bold »Commissioned Works«, created exclusively for the Pop-Kultur Festival and performed live for the very first time.

The Pop-Kultur Festival is committed to supporting pop culture in a sustainable way. Since 2017, the festival has presented a series of »Commissioned Works« – projects developed specifically for the festival and premiered there for the first time.

The »Commissioned Works« create space for artistic exploration and experimentation beyond economic viability. In doing so, they also respond to the precarious conditions under which many artists work. The result is a programme of interdisciplinary works and world premieres created especially for the festival audience.

The »Commissioned Works« are supported by Initiative Musik gemeinnützige Projektgesellschaft mbH with project funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
