VAVUNETTHA lovingly describes her music as »Seasoned Pop« – a sound full of contrasts: sweet and sharp, light and heavy, comfort and confrontation all at once. Her songs move freely between pop, identity, and the buzz of being a newcomer, creating a space that follows a logic entirely its own.

Raised between the Tamil diaspora and everyday life in Cologne, VAVUNETTHA treats heritage as something in motion. Her music speaks of transitions and constant transformation. Girlhood appears here as an ambivalent experience – caught between strength, overwhelm, and the desire to keep redefining oneself.

Her singles »Juwelen« (2023) and »Lakshmi« (2025) reveal a clear artistic signature: trap, boom bap, and melodic pop moments interlock organically. Above them sits a deadpan timbre that moves between autotune distortion and soul-soaked directness. Feelings are less displayed than atmospherically condensed and sent through different filters.

The debut album »Haus« (2024) brings together indie pop, hip-hop, ska, and Tamil sonic references into a deliberately layered cosmos. With the EP »Vaikaari« (2025), the body moves further into the foreground: basslines push the songs outwards, as club energy meets intimacy. By then, VAVUNETTHA had become visible far beyond her initial insider acclaim.

VAVUNETTHA’s music works just as well in the club as it does at home. It creates a form of escapism that does not suppress reality, but changes its temperature.
