SATARII

SATARII belongs to a generation of artists who resolutely take production, expression, and control into their own hands. In the finest DIY tradition, the Mannheim-based musician produces, writes, and performs her work entirely herself.

The songs on her debut album »Größter Träumer« are carried by personal narratives of identity, heritage, and the determination to hold on to one’s own vision in the face of resistance. Shaped by a deeply musical family environment – Persian and Romanian music, alongside 2000s Iranian pop, were ever-present – as well as early musical training (she wrote her first songs at the age of seven) and later studies in jazz and pop vocals, she brings together technical precision with an open, playful approach to songwriting.

Lyrically, she explores questions of body image, expectations placed on female artists, and wider social pressures in a voice entirely her own. Central to this is her multilingualism: SATARII works with German, Romanian, and at times Farsi – both as an expression of her biography and as a stylistic device. While Romanian often carries a particular sense of energy and attitude in her songs, Farsi tends to open up a more poetic register, one that resonates even beyond literal understanding.

SATARII’s music is political – not through sloganistic gestures, but as something embedded more deeply in the DNA of her songs, driven by a clear desire to inspire courage and keep spaces for agency audible.
