Beyefendi & Lilith the Quing

Over the past few years, Berlin has become home to a drag scene that is radically queer, political, and fiercely DIY. Its protagonists are kings, queens, quings, demons, and genderfuckers, creating spaces for those who are often excluded from more commercial drag circuits. With Queer Pop Bingo, Beyefendi and Lilith the Quing bring this spirit to the Pop-Kultur Festival.

Somewhere between bingo, pop quiz, and drag show, the event unfolds as a playful format centred on shared experiences, collective singing, and celebration. At its heart are queer pop history and contemporary culture, from beloved Kurdish-Turkish songs and queer pop from Latin America to the iconic anthems that have accompanied generations of outsiders. Stories, anecdotes, spontaneous performances, and a healthy dose of camp make for an evening that is as welcoming as it is glamorous – and therefore especially suited to those arriving on their own in search of community.

Beyefendi is one of Berlin’s best-known drag kings. The award-winning performance artist combines Kurdish-Anatolian charm, Turkish melodrama, and live singing with the blend of humour and melancholy that makes great entertainment truly moving.

Lilith the Quing, also known as Ken Marroska, is part of the Brazilian drag collective BRag Kultur. In the politically charged performances of the Berlin-based artist, Latin American pop traditions, activism, dance, and queer self-empowerment meet. Together, they invite audiences to an evening where competition matters less than the joy of bringing queer pop history to life as a collective celebration.
