Maryam.fyi brings together pop music and social purpose without ever allowing one to overshadow the other. The German-Iranian musician, artist, and columnist moves between introspective songwriting, electronic pop, and political reflections on identity, belonging, and freedom. After completing her medical degree, she now devotes herself entirely to her artistic work and has established a distinctive voice within the German pop landscape through her three EPs to date – »Queen«, »Fehler«, and »Hand«.

Her Iranian heritage shapes both her music and her writing. Through columns and songs, she advocates for the democracy movement in Iran and, in particular, for women’s rights. In 2023, her interpretation of »Baraye«, the anthem of the »Woman, Life, Freedom« movement, was honoured with the Preis für Popkultur (Award for Pop Culture) in the category »Most Moving Story«. Maryam.fyi understands pop as both a personal and political form of expression – a space where vulnerability, empowerment, and social responsibility naturally coexist.
