Five people stand on a paved path in front of a building. The camera looks slightly down at the group. From left to right: Andi Haberl stands at the back left with a cap, glasses, and a dark jacket. Fee Aviv Dubois stands at the front left in a black coat. Shanice Ruby Bennett stands in the back center in a dark jacket with a hood. Ralph Heidel stands in the front center in a dark sweater. Izzy Ment stands at the front right in a light-colored jacket with folded hands. Stairs, railings, gravel areas, and plants are visible in the background.

Created at the invitation of the curatorial team for Pop-Kultur Festival 2026, »Before it’s over« is a commissioned work built around a band that will exist for one night only. In a present where music is constantly available, archived, shared, and endlessly reproducible, this project consciously embraces impermanence.

Fee Aviv Dubois, Ralph Heidel, Izzy Ment, Shanice Ruby Bennett, and Andi Haberl – five distinct artists connected to a wide range of musical projects – have come together in a protected space to develop a live set incorporating elements of improvisation.

What emerges is a singular encounter: no later release, no second performance, no chance to revisit it on Spotify. Even the otherwise ubiquitous impulse to document and share on social media recedes into the background. Instead, the focus rests on what unfolds between stage and audience – and what remains afterwards in memory.

The collaboration becomes a time capsule: less a concert than a performance, less a product than an encounter.
