Eddna: »Equinox«

The work of Elena Herrmann moves fluidly between experimental pop, performance art, and film. She began releasing electroacoustic songs as a teenager and has continued to develop her interdisciplinary practice ever since. In 2023, she released her debut album »Cut in Half« under the name Eddna, attracting international attention. Extended stays in Japan, alongside a residency hosted by Villa Aurora and the 18th Street Arts Center in Los Angeles, have also had a lasting influence on her current work.

At the centre of her Commissioned Work is the audiovisual project »Equinox«, bringing together concert, film, and performative installation. Within the striking setting of the Arsenal cinema, immersive visual and sonic environments unfold, where pre-produced music videos, live performance, and scenography bleed into one another, together symbolising a longing for – or fulfilment of – love. In doing so, Eddna creates an atmospheric interdisciplinary work at the intersection of cinematic experience and concert format, opening up new spaces of perception through the deliberate layering of artistic forms.

Driven by unreleased music and electronic soundscapes, »Equinox« unfolds as a dense and associative world of images shaped by spiritual searching, dream logic, and a deliberate resonance with its surroundings. Somewhere between David Lynch and »The Little Prince« emerges a narrative at once dark and full of promise – a story of depletion and fulfilment in the search for connection.
