DJ Wagner

Barbara Wagner, aka DJ Wagner, has spent decades moving through the many corners of the independent music scene – as a musician, tour manager, booker, producer, and DJ – becoming a defining presence behind the scenes of the German-speaking indie and pop landscape. She first became widely known as the guitarist for the Berlin band Britta and also spent more than twenty years working as the tour manager for Tocotronic.

Her DJ career began at Berlin’s legendary Flittchenbar – a place where pop, subculture, and nightlife still flowed effortlessly into one another. Her sets continue to reflect that same openness today, moving between indie, electronica, and lovingly curated obscurities.

As one half of the electronic duo Wagner und Pohl, she released the album »Celandine« in 2005. In 2020, she also produced the digital pandemic-era edition of Pop-Kultur, whose film contributions can still be viewed on the festival’s YouTube channel today.
