Ulla: »Toxic Maskfedideldi«
Behind Ulla is trained drummer and performing artist Ulrich Hartmann. In his sets, as if in a sugar rush, the full-blooded diabetic seamlessly merges with his instruments – synthesiser, organ, and drums – to form a captivatingly disturbing, performing blood cell, warbling his way around the stage with virtuosity and style.
For Pop-Kultur, Ulla will choreograph an exclusive new piece about toxic masculinity, bringing us on a prescription journey to the most fascinating places of his musical fever dream. At this point, we can only guess whether the spectacle will resemble a circus performance or a classical ballet, but one thing is for sure: Ulla will approach the piece with his own brand of charm and humour.
Since 2018, besides his artistic work, Ulrich Hartmann has been the project manager of luftsprung live, a programme giving support to chronically ill musicians run by the aktion luftsprung foundation. Its aim is to bring together sick musicians from Germany to make music together on a regular basis. »We are self-confident, musical, and sick!« as it says on the aktion luftsprung website.
