As Berlin’s favourite drummer, Robert Kretzschmar has played with Kat Frankie, Masha Qrella, Das Paradies and many other backing bands. Now, he is taking the long-awaited step into the world of solo musicians – writing, playing and producing everything on his own. Although his music is marked by an apparent minimalism, it all sounds very big. Almost like bossa nova, his voice oscillates between hinting and singing, guiding the listener through catchy arrangements with constantly surprising chord changes, reminiscent of Phoenix or the nonchalance of Mac DeMarco, while the drums and bass leave room for shimmering synth pads and disco strings. Almost in awe and at the same time with a sense of compassion, Robert Kretzschmar describes gradual changes, farewells and encounters with the big life questions. A casual encounter between introspective melancholy and tender dancefloor glamour.
