LUCIDVOX

LUCIDVOX consists of four Russian musicians who now live in exile in Serbia, Israel, Georgia and Germany. In a recent interview, Alina (vocals/flute), Nadezhda (drums), Galla (guitar) and Anna (bass) remarked that they had to leave their country in order to be able to say what they wanted and express their democratic self-concept.
LUCIDVOX formed in 2013 in true DIY style, the group of friends learnt their instruments while playing, just like The Raincoats and The Slits once did. However, this punky approach isn’t something you hear in their music: Their great second album »That’s What Remained«, released on Glitterbeat in 2023, is defined by multi-layered, sophisticated prog and psychedelic rock. Critics use terms such as »liturgical« to describe the band’s impressive, melodic sound, but LUCIDVOX don’t want to preach – they want to protest and party with the audience.
