Los Bitchos

If any band embodies multiculturalism in action, it’s London’s Los Bitchos: lead guitarist Serra Petale (Australian–Turkish), Uruguayan synth and keytar player Agustina Ruiz, Swedish bassist Josefine Jonsson, and British drummer Nic Crawshaw. Together, they create instrumental pop that draws from cumbia, mariachi, and surf – or, as they put it: »We trip on tequila.« Anyone who thought the idea of an instrumental band was played out after their debut »Let the Festivities Begin!« will be happily proven wrong by the follow-up »Talkie Talkie«. Not that they take things too seriously – their 2023 single »La Bomba« casually drops in a cheeky »hey« chant, and the album opener »Hi!« greets us right away – including the bold B-word and all.
