Levin Goes Lightly
Yearning for touch, ecstasy, intimacy, noise. Stuttgart’s Levin Goes Lightly dreamed of bold, propulsive live music with epic moments, loud guitars, real drums and deeper bass, especially during the isolation of the pandemic. So Levin Stadler, previously performing mainly as a one-man project, now created new songs collectively with Thomas Zehnle and Paul Schwarz. And accordingly, the band’s current album »Rot« sounds majestic and ornate. Shortly before lockdown, the singer’s long-term relationship went to pieces, and the existential experience of being alone has oozed into the songs: it’s all about anger, love and desire. Fittingly, it sounds like Roxy Music, Suicide, The Cure and DAF – and yet like a new, dark millennium.
