Ifriqiyya Electrique don’t just give concerts. Rather, they offer transcendental and post-industrial ceremonies, having explored various rites and trance states practised by healing communities in North Africa. A therapeutic ritual of possession and trance maintained by slaves sold in Tunisia centuries ago. A syncretism between animism and Islam. A performance with musicians interacting with electronics and electricity. Ifriqiyya Electrique let the demons speak with computers and electric guitars. All while knowing that the need to let go, forget and take off is something that exists on dancefloors all over the world.
