Hér

Sound archaeology from the North. Hér take their name from the Icelandic word for »here« – a clear invitation for listeners to be fully present, immersed in the music. Though the name is Icelandic, the band was founded in Gdańsk, Poland.
Hér are dedicated to setting Old Icelandic wisdom poetry to music. Inspired by the »Edda« – a collection of ancient Norse myths and heroic songs – the five musicians create sonic landscapes that merge medieval Nordic poetry with contemporary musical expression.
With overtone singing, trance-like rhythms, and violin lines that glide across the ear like skates on ice, Hér conjure raw, archaic soundscapes that transport listeners into another world.
