Donkey Kid

Donkey Kid blends nostalgic pop sensibilities with modern indie rock – and that’s exactly what makes his sound so exciting. At the Palais, the 22-year-old will fire up his musical time machine: bubblegum pop from the sixties, the warm glow of seventies ballads, and the groove-driven aesthetics of the eighties. A multi-instrumentalist, he moves effortlessly between synth-pop and guitar-led indie – as if there were no line between the two. This stylistic openness defines his debut album »Heavyweight Champion« – a record that deliberately blurs genre boundaries. Live, it becomes an electrifying experience: nothing stands still – not the sound, not the crowd. For fans of Tame Impala, MGMT, and anyone who sees retro not as a step back, but as a spark for something new.
