Club de Baile by Camila Malenchini

For this year‘s edition of the Çaystube, artist and choreographer Camila Malenchini brings her high-energy format Club de Baile to the courtyard of the Kulturbrauerei – turning it into a vibrant, sweat-soaked open-air dance studio. Together with Latinx artists and dance communities from Berlin, a space emerges where salsa, cumbia, bachata, reggaeton, and merengue meet queer desire, body pride, and post-migrant memory. Dj Pendejo, also known as Pi Bruno, sets the tone for the evening at the turntables.

Club de Baile, developed with Inmensidades and Sharon Mercado Nogales, is more than just a dance event – it’s a temporary cultural centre where movement becomes language. Here, dance is resistance, joy, and belonging. Through open dance workouts and moments of collective euphoria, Club de Baile invites you to move, sweat, and celebrate together – no experience required. In sneakers or high heels, solo or in pairs – what matters is the shared rhythm. After a successful debut at the Berliner Festspiele, Club de Baile now comes to the Çaystube, bringing its vibrant community with it. Guest performers, surprise moves, and collective energy await.
