»BABYCAKES« was born in 2021 during the pandemic at the NEW FEARS gallery for performance in Berlin-Wedding – driven by a desire to bring something fresh and playful into the club scene. The format blends different communities and styles of underground electronic music with performative interventions into one rich and creamy mix.
In the »BABYCORE« edition, electronic music meets dark metal, performance, drag, and somatic practice. With DJ sets, live acts, workshops, and a »BABYCORE« drag competition, we journey through sonic extremes – from heavy riffs to broken beats and ecstatic basslines. BABYCAKES stands for queer empowerment, collective ecstasy, healing, and the joyful dismantling of normative structures within club culture.
